Microbial Growth Remediation

Mold is all around us. It can be found outside in the air we breathe and even in small amounts in the air in our homes. It is part of our daily lives.

Mold becomes an issue when it is found growing on organic building materials within the home in concentrated amounts. Typically, mold is attracted to areas in the home that have suffered prolonged and repeated exposure to damp conditions. Mold also prefers places that are dark with minimal air movement. An unaddressed water damage incident can most certainly lead to mold growth and secondary damage.

It doesn't always have to be a prolonged period of time for mold to grow. For instance, a leak from a hot water tank
causing damage to surrounding walls can cause mold to grow within 72 hours due to the high heat and humidity of the hot water. Hot water tank leaks, especially when a tank is located in a small room or utility closet, can create the perfect environment for mold to grow quickly. Imagine leaving town for a few days to find a fresh colony of mold growth in your utility closet! Keep this in mind, as most insurance companies will consider mold a long-term condition and thus a reason for denial of coverage. DK Environmental can assist and effectively represent you in communicating with your insurance company should you be wrongfully denied coverage on a claim.
